feedback for participants

  • jrtuenge by jrtuenge

Would it be possible to provide some kind of feedback (e.g., grading/scoring) for participants, so we have a sense of whether we're on the right track? Seems like you could calibrate against some old/known examples, and then cut us loose on new/unknown examples once we have some confidence in what we're doing. Or maybe it's just me that feels like I might be doing poorly and thus wasting my time?

Hi @jrtuenge , we've had this request, and I believe the science team is working on at least adding a blog that shows several more examples of correct classifications. 😃

I promise that you are not doing poorly! As long as you've looked at the tutorial and/or the field guide below the classification interface, I'm sure you're doing fine. Remember, the magic of citizen science is that when 20 novices look at something, they tend to produce the same classification as an expert would, once their cumulative data is reduced.

Thanks for being a part of the project!!
