Strange loop

  • philotue by philotue

Hi there. There's a loop at 7 o'clock. It looks like a very short vortex in normal view. Zoom view and especially slice view show a loop. What is it?

Typically, these are artifacts made when the computer tries (and miserably fails) to mark a vertex.

However, I've never seen a green one before. Green is typically reserved for muons.

So my instinct is to say, just an artifact, ignore it, but I'd want a scientist's opinion before being sure!

Right. Ignore it. These are left over from computer-found vertices whose tracks have now been removed for you because they were not interesting.

For sure, @philotue ... I see you're marking a bunch of the loops. While we definitely appreciate the spirit and effort, there's no need! They can be ignored. Thanks!! 😃
