Highly-curved orange track

  • Whoandwhatitis by Whoandwhatitis moderator

    Hello @kkuope,

    According to the FAQ:

The lines are curved because the particles are charged particles
inside a strong magnetic field. The higher the particle momentum, the
    less the curvature.

So, conversely, low-momentum particles curve more and this I think is what you're seeing.

Also, concerning the orange color of this line, just in case you're curious (also from the FAQ):

Q: Why are some lines a different colour?

    • A: The only colours of consequence are green (the muons coming from the center) and the red dashed line, which is not a track at all. Other than that, the colours don't mean anything specific, but are markers for that the computer thinks the lines come from the same vertex. (Read more about the colours and dots on the detectors below!)

    Hope this helps!
