Symmetry ?

  • lowellbuzz by lowellbuzz

When looking at these #backward whites at 5:30.
Do the rays have to be symmetrical around the center point?
    Thanks

No, they don't have to be symmetrical. In fact if they are traces of different particles, we wouldn't expect them to be.

Thanks, One more, How about the symmetry of the rays or paths with respect to another?

Sorry, not quite sure what you are asking ?

    Elisabeth,
    Thanks.
If you could detail an explanation of rays A B and C.
    I'm confused.

Sorry, but these images do not correspond to the image to the left. Very confused now 😄

Ok let's get back to the other image then.
If you were to label across the top of the white rays pointing down from to 5 to 6 oclock A B C.
Which ones are involved and perhaps the why or why not.

Well, they all seem to cross at a single point near enough, so I would mark that as an off-centre vertex with 3 tracks. Probably the bottom parts are 'real' and the top parts are mistakes by the computer trying to trace them back.
