particle changing direction at right angle

  The particle shown with a green line leaving the centre at about 4 o'clock appears the have turned left at a right angle or am i wrong.

  Interesting one. I think the computer may have messed up the reconstruction here. Big changes in angle are possible, if the particle scatters off material in the detector. But in this case I can see little deposits of energy (marked in yellow) along the direction of the original track.
